In 1998, Ian combined two of his passions, stocks and the Internet, with the launch of a free investment web site with expert advice about investing in stocks.

Ian founded Business Financial Publishing and Wyatt Investment Research in 2001, publishing investment newsletters for individual investors. Since then, the company has evolved into an Internet content company publishing e-letters, special reports, newsletters, trading services and financial web sites.

Business Financial Publishing was named #185 on the 2008 Inc. Magazine Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing companies in the United States, achieving a 3-year growth rate of 1,303%. The company currently reaches over one million individual investors weekly through its free e-letters.

His first book, The Small-Cap Investor: Secrets to Winning Big with Small-Cap Stocks, was published by John Wiley & Sons in September 2009.

Ian lives in the Green Mountains of Vermont with his wife Carrie.

Jason Cimpl, Research Analyst

Jason Cimpl is a Research Analyst at Wyatt Investment Research, and focuses on technical analysis and active trading.

Born and raised near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jason started investing in stocks during grade school and made money on technology stocks during the mid 1990’s like Intel and EMC. His fondness of equities only grew with age. Jason is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, with a degree in Finance, Investments and Banking. With his real world investing experience validated by an academic degree, Jason hit the job market.

His first stop was at software provider Epic Systems. In the accounting department, he quickly learned the intricacies of running a small technology business. Next, at financial giant AXA, he honed his skills at portfolio management and capital allocation.

Jason is first and foremost a growth investor. His investment style is more like George Soros than Warren Buffett. Valuations are important, but he will pay a hefty premium for a well run company focused on increasing shareholder value. Jason is also a market technician and does not rely solely on fundamental analysis. While he contends that in the long term the market will gravitate to fundamental fair value prices, in the short-term technical analysis can efficiently predict price moves – and the short-term can last for many months. Small cap stocks will always be Jason’s favorite investment, but he also likes to trade currency.

Now with Wyatt Investment Research, Jason is the lead technical analyst and editor of TradeMaster Daily Stock Alerts. He also serves as a Research Analyst and contributor to the company’s other publications including Small Cap Investor PRO, Top Stock Insights, Energy World Profit, and Global Commodity Investing.

Tyler Laundon

Tyler Laundon is a Research Analyst at Wyatt Investment Research where he specializes in small-cap stock analysis.

Born in Vermont, Tyler attended the University of Vermont where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Small Business Management. As an aspiring entrepreneur he founded and operated a residential contracting firm with operations in Stowe, Vermont and Nantucket, Massachusetts. Before the real estate crash, he made a clean exit from the contracting industry to pursue his MBA degree at the University of Vermont. Tyler graduated first in his class after two years with a finance concentration.

Throughout graduate school, Tyler worked at a technology incubator with a number of start-up companies to develop viable business models. He subsequently worked in the health care industry developing a strategic business plan for a faculty practice group with annual revenues in excess of $200 million.

Tyler gravitates toward fundamental analysis with a secondary focus on technical analysis to support buy and sell decisions. An individual investor, he began dabbling in the markets as a way to raise cash to fund renovations on his 1850’s era farmhouse. He’s a firm believer in the short-term inefficiency of markets and the opportunities they create for astute investors who have done their homework. He’s also a bit of a contrarian investor, and won’t hesitate to take the unpopular side of a trade when he recognizes a profit opportunity

With Wyatt Investment Research, Tyler is the lead research analyst and contributor to Small Cap Investor PRO and Small Cap Investor Daily. He also serves as Research Analyst, contributor, and editor to the company’s other publication’s including Top Stock Insights, TradeMaster Daily Stock Alerts, and Daily Profit.

Tyler is an avid skier and fisherman and has traveled extensively in New Zealand, South America, and Western North America in pursuit of adventure. He lives at the base of the Worcester Range in Waterbury Center, Vermont.

Kevin McElroy, Editor

Kevin McElroy is a top rated commodity researcher and analyst specialist at Wyatt Investment Research, with a targeted focus on short and long term investment opportunities.

He has worked in the investment publishing field for over three years alongside some of the world's leading commodity traders and analysts.  He takes the complex futures and options trading strategies from the floors of the Nymex and the CBOT, uniquely combines them with economic trends and positions his recommendations in a way that any investor, from a straight long-term buy and hold investor to a sophisticated day trader can easily understand, implement, and profit.

Kevin constantly finds unique ways to profit from the "real stuff" like oil, gold, iron, corn – the energy, money, goods and food that the world constantly needs more of.

Kevin is the daily editor to Resource Prospector and a contributor to Energy World Profits and Global Commodity Investing.

Gregor Macdonald, Energy Analyst

Gregor Macdonald has spent the last decade researching and investing in the energy sector. While his focus remains on global fossil fuel supply, he has developed several models for transition to the energy grid, as the world migrates from autos to public transport. Solar, Wind, Nuclear and other sources of new supply to the Grid are also topics that Gregor explores in his publications.

Gregor has written for The Financial Times of London. He has recently appeared on MSNBC in the United States, and on BNN in Toronto. His writing and views have been cited in The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, and the Oil And Gas Journal.

Gregor serves as the Energy Analyst to Energy World Profits.

Ian has discovered over the years that small-cap stocks can provide the best long-term returns for investors. Small-caps are the one area where individual investors can truly have a leg up on Wall Street, due to the lack of analyst coverage and institutional ownership.
