AAR gets $26M equipment contract from U.S. Army

Aviation and defense industry product provider AAR Corp. (NYSE:AIR) announced today it had been given an order for containerized roll-in/out platforms for the U.S. Army. The agreement is worth $26 million. The equipment will be used to transport ammunition and will be manufactured in Cullman, Ala., through June 2011, the Wood Dale, Ill.-based company said. The order was part of a five-year requirements contract from 2005.

In today’s trading, shares of AAR are at $13.20 at 1:46 p.m. ET, down $0.24 from Monday’s close. During the past year, shares have ranged from $12.62 to $39.42.
