Aspect Medical Systems BIS system fails to create benefit
Aspect Medical Systems (Nasdaq: ASPM), which manufactures an anesthesia monitoring system known as the BIS system, reported after Wednesday’s close that a researchers found in a prospective study that the potential for the Bispectral (BIS) Index to reduce the risk of anesthesia awareness produced no benefit. Shares plummeted 22.1%, or $2.27, to $8 ahead of the opening bell.
