Centillium Communications receives system-on-chip processor order
Centillium Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTLM) said this morning that it received a multi-million dollar order for one of its Mustang system-on-chip processors from a leading manufacturer of broadband networking equipment in Japan.
Centillium said the Mustang chip set will be used as the core processor for optical networking unit devices for one of Japan's foremost telecommunications service providers.
The Mustang processor is expected to power the high-bandwidth broadband access and network services in optical fiber-to-the-premises networks for thousands of subscriber lines when fully implemented.
Delivery is expected within the next six months.
Shares of Centillium (CTLM) were halted in pre-market trading.
