Dollar Financial delays annual filing
Dollar Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: DLLR), a payday lender, is delaying filing its 2007 annual with regulators, the company announced before the start of trading. The firm said it is assessing accounting treatment and disclosures of certain derivative transactions for the 12 months ended June 30.
Dollar Financial said any adjustments relating to these directive transactions could affect the timing of recognizing unrealized gains and losses as reported on its statement of operations; however, the firm said the non-cash adjustments should not impact the economics of derivative transactions. The Berwyn, Penn.-based company said it has not yet determined if any adjustments are necessary.
In late trading, Dollar Financial shares are down $0.32, or 1.19%, at $26.53. Over the last 52 weeks, shares have ranged from $20.10 to $33.27.
