FX Energy up 13% on positive drilling update

FX Energy Inc. (Nasdaq:FXEN) shares are up 13% today after the oil and gas company after providing an upbeat drilling update. The company said its Grundy-2 well, which is in Poland, is currently drilling in Rotliegend sandstone at a depth of 4,625 meters. The well has now drilled 385 meters of the sandstone with gas shows throughout and no instances of water, the company said in a statement. Plans are to drill the well to a depth of 4,660 meters and perform tests to determine gas saturation and porosity. FX Energy owns a 49% interest in the well.

Shares of FX Energy are up $0.65 to $5.60 at 3:13 p.m. ET.
