Pre-market: G. Willi Food beats Q1 expectations
Shares of G. Willi-Food International Ltd. (Nasdaq: WILC) are rising on news this morning that the Israeli food importer reported a first-quarter 2007 net income of $1.6 million, or $0.15 per share, compared with a net income of $5.5 million, or $0.63 per share, recorded in the first quarter of 2006. Wall Street was expecting earnings of $0.14 per share. The stock is up $0.06, or 1%, to $7.96.
Shares of Micrus Endovascular Corp. (Nasdaq: MEND) are falling despite news this morning that the San Jose-based medical devices maker has received a clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its ENZO steerable microcatheter, which allows physicians to more efficiently treat aneurysms. Shares are down $0.46, or 2%, to $21.35.
IDM Pharma Inc.’s (Nasdaq: IDMI) founder and CEO Jean-Loup Romet-Lemonne has left the Irvine, Calif.-based company, according to a press release this morning. He is being replaced by Timothy P. Walbert. Sharers are up $0.54, or 20%, to $3.18.
Shares of Top Tankers, Inc. (Nasdaq: TOPT) are in positive territory following news this morning that the Greek seaborne transportation services company has entered into an agreement to re-acquire four tankers that it sold in 2006 in a sale and lease-back transaction, and to terminate the respective operating leases. The stock has added $0.12, or 2%, to $6.03.
Xinhua Finance Media Ltd. (Nasdaq: XFML) is being sued by Kahn Gauthier Swick, LLC, according to news reports on Monday. The lawsuit is on behalf of shareholders who purchased shares of Xinhua in connection with its $300 million Initial Public Offering on or about March 9, 2007. The lawsuit alleges that Xinhua’s former CFO at the time of its IPO, Shelly Singhal, was simultaneously an investment banker and stockbroker. Still, shares are down $0.43, or 6%, to $7.14.
Shares of Internet Gold Golden Lines Ltd. (Nasdaq: IGLD) are gaining on news this morning that the Israeli communications company has signed an agreement with Channel 9, Israel’s only Russian-language television station, to jointly create a new Internet portal. Shares are up $0.34, or 3%, to $13.12.
