Pre-market: Mannatech Inc. being investigated
Wellness solution provider Mannatech Inc.’s (Nasdaq: MTEX) chief executive is being accused of operating an illegal marketing scheme by the Texas Attorney General, according to news reports after Thursday’s close. Investigators allege that Coppell, Texas-based Mannatech exaggerated claims about the therapeutic benefits of its dietary supplements and nutritional products for people with cancer. The stock is down $0.90, or 6%, to $15.10.
Shares of Inter-Tel (Delaware) Inc. (Nasdaq: INTL) are slightly higher following news this morning that the Tempe, Ariz.-based provider of Internet communications products forecasts net sales for the quarter ended June 30 between $113.5 million and $115.5 million, compared with net sales of $115.9 million a year earlier. The stock is up $0.31, or 1%, to $24.55.
New York-based Omrix Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: OMRI) has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for one of its drugs, the company said this morning. Shares are up $0.64, or 2%, to $35.00.
Shares of San Jose-based Immersion Corp. (Nasdaq: IMMR), a provider of haptic technologies that allow people to use their sense of touch when operating digital devices, are higher following news after Thursday’s close of a favorable review by a technical analyst from StockProfit.com. Shares are up $0.42, or 2%, to $18.00.
Shares of Local.com Corp. (Nasdaq: LOCM) are falling despite news this morning that an analyst from StockProfit.com wrote that the Irvine, Calif.-based provider of paid-search services is on “a powerful new long-term up-trend.” The stock is down $0.77, or 6%, to $12.16.
