Pre-market: MDI, Inc. gets contract from US Navy

(Nasdaq: CNXT) is trading lower on news after Thursday’s close that its second-quarter loss widened to $133.4 million, or $0.27 per share, compared with a loss of $10.1 or $0.02 per share in the same period a year earlier. Analysts were expecting the semiconductor company to lose $0.02 per share. The stock is down $0.04, or 2.58%, to $1.51.
Shares of Woburn, Mass.-based ArQule, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARQL) have moved down despite news this morning that the biotechnology company has entered into a license agreement with Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co., Ltd. to develop and commercialize a cancer treatment in Japan and parts of Asia. Shares are down $0.46, or 4.99%, to $8.75.
Melville, N.Y.-based FalconStor Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: FALC) is up following news after Thursday’s close that net loss for the quarter ended March 31 was $0.6 million or $0.01 per share, smaller than the company’s net loss of $3.6 million or $0.08 per share in the first three months of 2006. The stock is up $0.65, or 5.68%, to $12.10.
Shares of Boulder, Colo-based Dynamic Materials Corporation (Nasdaq: BOOM) are trading higher following news after Thursday’s close that net income for the quarter ended March 31 was $4.9 million, or $0.40 per share, down from net income of $5.5 million, or $0.45 per share a year earlier but above analysts’ estimates of $0.35 per share. The stock is up $0.79, or 2.16%, to $37.12.
Palo Alto, Calif.-based Alexza Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALXA) is down on news this morning that its public offering of 6 million shares of its common stock will be at a price of $10.25 per share. That’s below Thursday’s close of $10.56. The stock is down $0.73, or 6.47%, to $10.56.
