Pre-market: Microsoft to buy 24/7 Real Media?
Shares of New York-based 24/7 Real Media, Inc. (Nasdaq: TFSM) are down following a report by The New York Post this morning that software giant Microsoft Corp. may bid to buy the online advertising company for as much as $1 billion. Shares are down $0.29, or 2.83%, to $9.95.
Shares of Watertown, Mass.-based pharmaceutical company Acusphere, Inc. (Nasdaq: ACUS) are up on news this morning that its experimental imaging agent for measuring blood flow in the heart met two of three clinical trial goals. The agent showed the ability to detect heart disease, but was not as good as ultrasound readers at detecting the lack of heart disease. Shares are up $0.06, or 1.53%, to $3.99.
Dallas-based supply chain management solutions software provider i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ITWO) has lost ground on news this morning that its earnings for the first quarter were $0.16 per share, below analysts’ expected earnings of $0.22 per share. The company said it is disappointed by its software solutions and maintenance revenue. Shares are down $0.03, or 0.12%, to $25.46.
Shares of Gaithersburg, Md.-based GenVec, Inc. (Nasdaq: GNVC) are trading lower despite news this morning that that company has extended its agreement with the program PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative and will receive an extra $750,000 in additional funding for a new malaria vaccine. Shares are down $0.21, or 5.25%, to $3.79.
Nutritional supplement maker Nutraceutical International Corp. (Nasdaq: NUTR) is rolling out nationwide its Nature's Pearl(TM) Muscadine Grape Seed Supplement, which the company claims is much healthier than regular grapes. The product will be distributed through groceries and health and natural food channels, Nutraceutical said this morning. Shares are up $0.31, or 1.94%, to $16.32.
Shares of San Diego-based Hollis-Eden Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: HEPH) are in positive territory on news this morning that the company has received approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to initiate a Phase I clinical trial of its drug for the treatment of metabolic disorders. Shares have added $0.13, or 5.10%, to $2.68.
