Pre-market: Nanogen submits kit to the FDA

San Diego-based diagnostics products maker Nanogen, Inc. (Nasdaq: NGEN) is down despite news this morning that it has submitted to the FDA its Cystic Fibrosis Kit.  Nanogen hopes to receive clearance from the regulators so that it can market its kit to clinical laboratories.  Shares are down $0.05, or 2.63%, to $1.85.

Shares of Jones Soda Co. (Nasdaq: JSDA) are down up following news that analyst Think Equity Partners said after Monday’s close that the Seattle-based company is seeing increased sales to one of its distributors.  Shares are up $3.32, or 11.76%, to $31.54.

Shares of On2 Technologies, Inc. (AMEX: ONT) are flat despite news this morning that the Clifton Park, N.Y.-based provider of video compression software and solutions has signed an agreement to integrate its technology with that of video technology company Kulabyte.  Shares are at $2.50.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based biopharmaceutical company Telik, Inc. (Nasdaq: TELK) is up on news it has reported positive tests during Phase 2 clinical trials of its treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer.  Shares have gained $0.09, or 1.55%, to $5.89.

Shares of Cambridge, Mass.-based Dyax Corporation (Nasdaq: DYAX) are down despite news this morning that the biopharmaceutical company has started treating patients in a late-stage clinical trial of a drug aimed at hereditary angioedema, a condition that causes swelling under the skin.  Shares are down $0.32, or 5.36%, to $5.65.

Drug developer Cell Genesys, Inc. (Nasdaq: CEGE) has lost ground despite news this morning that a clinical trial for its prostate cancer drug has shown results that suggest the drug may be used the generate a strong immune response against the cancer.  Shares are down $0.25, or 4.67%, to $5.10.
