Pre-market: NMT Medical gets study approval

Shares of Boston-based medical technology company NMT Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq: NMTI) have moved up on news this morning that it received conditional approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its study of stroke and transient ischemic attack.  NMT Medical plans to involve 800 patients in the study.  Shares are up $0.09, or 0.62%, to $14.55.

Shares of Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (Nasdaq: AMCC) are down on news this morning that the company expects to report a decline in net revenues for the quarter ended March 31, 2007.  Revenues for the first three months are expected at $70 million, a drop of 8.5% from a year earlier.  Shares are down $0.05, or 1.40%, to $3.53.

Henderson, Nev.-based holding company Empire Resort, Inc. (Nasdaq: NYNY) is flat despite news it has been granted full rights as an equal party to the federal government to assist in defense of the environmental review for the St. Regis Mohawk tribe’s Monticello Raceway casino project in Sullivan County.  Shares are flat at $10.04.
