Pre-market: Synovis profitable in Q1
Shares of Synovis Life Technologies, Inc. Shares of Solarfun Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (Nasdaq: SOLF) are gaining despite news this morning that the Chinese manufacturer of photovoltaic cells started the year with a net loss of $0.3 million, compared with a net income of $4.3 million in the first quarter of 2006. Shares are up $0.34, or 3%, to $12.42.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq: TASR) has received orders from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety and the Bridgeport Police Department for electronic control devices, the company said this morning. Shares are up $0.16, or 2%, to $10.45.
Shares of Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: IBKR) are moving up despite news after Tuesday’s close that the Greenwich, Conn.-based company narrowed its first-quarter net income to $0.31 per share, compared with $0.34 for the same period in 2006. Analyst estimates were not available. Shares have added $0.26, or 1%, to $27.55.
Wireless communications network designer Wireless Facilities, Inc. (Nasdaq: WFII) has signed a definitive agreement with LCC International (Nasdaq: LCCI) to sell WFI’s U.S. Wireless Engineering business for $46 million, with $17 million in cash paid at closing, the San Diego-based company said after Tuesday’s close. Shares are down $0.01, or 1%, to $1.49.
Shares of FX Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq: FXEN) are trading lower despite news this morning that the Salt Lake City, Utah-based energy company’s natural gas discovery in Poland has shown encouraging results. Completion operations are expected to begin shortly. Shares are down $0.02, or 0.19%, to $10.37.
