Pre-market: webMethods up on news of buyout

Shares of webMethods, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBM) are up sharply on news the software provider is being purchased by German company Software AG.  Fairfax, Va.-based webMethods will be bought for $546 million in cash, according to news reports this morning.  The stock gained $1.82, or, 25%, to $9.10.

Film manufacturer and distributor Fuwei Films (Holdings) Co., Ltd (Nasdaq: FFHL) rose after the Chinese company reported an increase in annual revenue this morning.  Revenue for the full year 2006 was $55.9 million, a 26.2% increase over revenue of $44.3 million in 2005.  Shares gained $1.61, or 16.40%, to $11.40.

Shares of Milpitas, Calif.-based Rackable Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: RACK) are down after the date storage company said after Wednesday’s close that it expects gross margins 30% below previous expectations.  Total revenue for the first quarter of 2007 is expected to be in the previous range of $70 – 75 million.  Shares are down $2.39, or 14.20%, to $14.49. 

ACADIA Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: ACAD) is up slightly on news Wednesday evening the public offering price for 5.75 millon shares of common stock is $15.50 per share.  The offering will result in gross proceeds of $89.1 million.  Shares gained $0.45, or 2.90%, to $16.05.

Shares of industrial services company Matrix Service Company (Nasdaq: MTRX) are up on news this morning the Tulsa, Okla.-based company raised its 2007 revenue outlook.  Matrix expects revenue in the range of $630 million to $640 million, up from a January forecast of $560 million and $580 million.  The stock gained $2.08, or 9.70%, to $23.49.

New York-based direct marketing and retail company dELiA’s, Inc. (Nasdaq: DLIA) is up on news this morning of strong results for the fourth-quarter ended February 3, 2007.  Total revenue was $89.4 million, a 14% increase compared with $78.4 million a year earlier.  Analyst estimates were unavailable.  Shares moved up $0.26, or 2.40%, to $11.00.
