Pyramid Oil slides 10% on falling crude prices

Oil and natural gas exploration company Pyramid Oil Company (AMEX:PDO) has fallen nearly 10% today on below-average volume as the price of crude continues to decline. At 12:57 p.m. ET, crude is at $121.16 per barrel, down about $3.94 from its previous settlement. The price of crude is down from its record highs of more than $147 achieved a month ago. At the same time, Pyramid Oil is down 45.5% from a month ago, but the stock is still up more than 271% since January.

In today’s trading, shares of Pyramid Oil are at $9.88, down $1.17 from Friday’s close. Trading volume is about half the average number of shares.
