Bridgewater Associates is one of the biggest hedge funds.

It recently launched the AIA Macro Fund. The “AIA” stands for Artificial Intelligence Investment Associate.

It uses machine learning and AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity to select trades and manage the portfolio.

Ray Dalio’s firm is known for its strong fund performance.

Bridgewater’s Pure Alpha generated a 33% return last year. That was the best performance in the fund’s 50-year history.

The firm is making a big commitment to artificial intelligence. Additionally, a new $2 billion fund is an early effort to allow AI to select investments – rather than using a team of portfolio managers.
