Earnings Season Calendar

With Q4 earnings season upon us, here are the earnings reports you should be paying close attention to the next couple months.
earnings-season-calendar
Earnings season is upon us, that window of time following each quarter during which the management of publicly traded companies release and discuss the performance of their companies.
The first-quarter earnings period is perhaps the most important of the year, as it is a window into how companies performed during the ultra-competitive holiday shopping season.
Certainly some earnings reports are more important than others.
If you own a certain stock then that company’s earnings report is likely to be more important to you than it might be to others who don’t own it. But there are some companies whose earnings reports offer all investors insight into entire sections of the economy or have the potential to move the entire market. FedEx (NYSE: FDX), Caterpillar (NYSE: CAT) and CSX (NYSE: CSX) are a few examples that I’ve highlighted below.
Others made my earnings calendar list because they have been battleground stocks recently or are likely to be affected by something in the next few months. Earnings season also gives us a chance to ask questions of management and gauge how much we like their responses.
