Elon Musk is launching a new initiative to build AI data centers in space.
It’s a huge endeavor. In fact, Elon says that this new project is the reason that he’s planning a SpaceX IPO this year.
Here’s how to invest before the stock starts trading.
SpaceX plans to begin launching constellations of satellites with AI data centers. This will allow Elon’s artificial intelligence company called xAI to operate in space – rather than on Earth.
There are three big reasons to build AI data centers in space.
First, there is no regulatory red tape or government regulation in space. Unlike earth – there are no city, state or federal rules that can stop development.
Second, these space-based AI data centers are powered by the sun. Since they are closer to the sun and capture sunlight 24/7 – they are 4 – 6 times more productive than solar panels on earth.
Third, data centers in space don’t need expensive cooling equipment. They can be cooled by the -300 degree temperature in space.
Moving AI data centers to space is Elon’s next big idea.
SpaceX is uniquely positioned to launch AI data centers for xAI. Plus, tech giants including Nvidia, Google and OpenAI are also developing plans for their own space projects.
Elon hopes to raise $30 billion for SpaceX via an IPO – with the goal of funding this new project.
